Issue 11 and the Future of Betwixt

Greetings, Betwixt readers! I have two important announcements for you tonight.

Issue 11
Starting at midnight on April 1, Betwixt will once again be open to submissions. The submission period will last from April 1 through May 31, and issue 11 will be published on July 15. As always, I recommend reviewing our submission guidelines, policies, and back issues prior to submitting. I look forward to reading your stories!

The Future of Betwixt
After the publication of issue 11, Betwixt will be going on hiatus for an indefinite period of time. This has been a very difficult decision for me. I’m incredibly proud of the issues we’ve published since our launch in 2013, and I have no desire to shut the magazine down for good. However, I currently lack the resources (both money and time/energy) to keep publishing on a regular basis. As such, suspending operations until I have the necessary resources seems like the best course of action.

The website and all published issues (including issue 11) will remain online, and ebook and print editions of the magazine will remain available for sale. I also plan to publish the long-awaited Betwixt: Year One collection and the two subsequent volumes in the near future. It’s possible that I may be able to work on some other projects as well, if circumstances allow. However, the gist of all this is that issue 11 will be the last issue of Betwixt for the time being—although hopefully not forever! (So, if you’ve been meaning to submit a story to us but haven’t, this submission period would be a great time!)

If you have any questions about any of this, please feel free to contact me directly at joy@betwixtmagazine.com

2016 Publication Schedule

Greetings, Betwixt readers and submitters! The new year is fast approaching, so now seems like a good time to announce some changes to our publication schedule for 2016. There will be two issues of Betwixt rather than the usual four: issue 10, guest edited by Julia Gilstein and Lisa Usani Phillips, will launch on January 15, 2016, and issue 11 will launch on July 15. The submission period for issue 11 will run from April 1 through May 31.

Thank you, and Happy Holidays!
